Alison Kimble began writing because she loves stories and believes in their power to shape our world and ourselves. Her writing blends the real and the fantastical and crosses genres of horror, fantasy, and sci-fi. She has written one novel, Strange Gods, and is working on her next.
 
As a reader, she enjoys books featuring unique worlds and new magic systems, or worlds like ours with a few magical twists. She loves competent characters who are tested to their limits, who have to make tough choices and pull off impossible feats with unexpected solutions. She likes novices who become experts and turn from victims of their circumstances into proverbial bosses.
 
She lives in the Greater Seattle Area with her husband and spends her time walking in the woods, going to the movies, and seeking adventures large and small.
